Parent Involvement

I believe strongly that a parent's involvement is one of the key ingredients in a quality childcare; therefore I encourage parents to visit my home whenever possible during the year to discuss any problems, issues, questions, concerns or ideas, including scheduled events and situations in the home. This action will give parents a chance to see how their child(ren) spend their time with other children and myself, thus assisting me in meeting the needs of your child(ren) in my care.

In order to better understand each child, I welcome any opportunity to talk with parents about their child(ren). It is critical that the communication channels between your home and Purdy’s Family Child Care stay open. Please feel free to talk with me and share anything that may be affecting your child(ren)’s behavior in order to assist me in appropriately caring for your child(ren) while in my care. You are encouraged to call me at any time between the hours of 1:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. If you call during the day, please be aware that I may be busy with the children and may not be able to answer the phone. If you would leave a message on my voice mail, I will call you back as soon as possible. The best time to call during the day is during our daily quiet time 1:00pm-3:00pm. I am looking forward to a terrific relationship with you and your child(ren)! If communication between your home and myself remains consistent, together we can provide a constant, loving, healthy and safe environment for your child(ren).

Each child will have a designated space for their personal belongings. Please label all of your child(ren)’s belongings.

I will provide all meals, beverages, wipes, tissues, cups, plates, utensils, bibs, burp cloths and bedding items.

  •  At least one change of clothes that can be kept here at all times in case of accidents.( 1 complete set that is weather appropriate. top, bottom, socks, and a undergarment  if potty trained)

    • If the child is currently being potty trained, an additional 2 full sets of clothes will be required. (3 full sets total)

  • For nap time, you may bring one personal item from home for comfort. (Stuffed animal etc…)

  • I will not be responsible for creams for children not potty trained; you must supply that as well. (with doctors note)

  • Diapers/Pull-ups (which ever kind your child uses in the correct size). They will be stored in your child’s cubby and I will notify you when the supply is low. (you can also bring them every day if wanted)

  • You must provide the following for infant (Formula, bottles, disposable diapers, 2 full changes of clothes, etc...)

I will supply sheets and blankets for each child’s sleeping area, which I will clean at the end of every week (unless they are soiled or otherwise dirty). However a state regulation requires that the bedding materials supplied by the parent/guardian be sent home, washed and cleaned at the end of every week and returned the following day of care!

All items must be labeled with the child's name. Provider is not responsible for lost articles.
